So I decided to take a little Nantucket Roadtrip on Sunday to try to find some interesting compositions to photograph during what I asumed would be our last snowfall of the season. After spending a bit of time out at Madaket Point, I headed back toward Madaket beach to chill in the car, eat my lunch and wait for the approaching band of snow to pass. To my delight I saw several Kiteboarders prepping their gear to take advantage of the up to 50mph gusts, so I hung out for a coule of hours to photograph them out on the water. Minutes after the first boarder left the beach a squall hit suddenly, bringing heavy snow and even heavier gusts with whiteout conditions. I tried to track the kiteboarder through my telephoto but he was quickly lost in the squall. After several scary minutes, I made out the shape of his kite over the beach about a half mile away so I knew he was safe. Soon after, the squall completely dissapated and the skies opened up to provide some truly great kiteboarding conditions! Thank you to Schuyler Kuhl, Juraj Bencat and Alex Arashonkau for braving the wind and the waves!
